  • 12 x 21 meters rectangular land shape is situated in an urban area next to North Bangkok, without neighbors at the present time, but in the near future. It is a site for creative couple, Orn and Win, whose lifestyle spending time working and socializing. A house for both needs to be an inspirational space with semi-public for their intimates and private area for their own relaxation.

    The presence of large virtuous solid reinforced concrete box at the front of the house, interlocking with another lighter black mass with pitched roof made of metal sheet, creates an imitation of isolation and darkness which refers to an unwelcomeness to unknown people. On the other hand, inside the house, an enclosed space with a large box of tree intervene through the middle of the house; the northern part, which adjoining to living area, contrastingly change an intimate and their own feeling inside, while rough and raw material selection for interior is still be the preferences of the owners. Living area with double volume and double height glass void initiates a visual connection on both vertical and horizontal sight, which are an outdoor terrace, a large box of tree, and a multi-purpose space on the second floor. This huge glass corner void is also allowing for natural daylight through this one and only coolest temperature side.

    For the programs, it comprises of basic functions which are living, dining, and kitchen are on the first level, with working room, two bedrooms, and master bedroom on the second floor. Elevating the box of tree in order to share green space to both levels.

    Circulation path which mainly the staircase defines different routes to different users. Guests are forced to stay at only center living area on the first floor, while close friends are allowed to go up and continuing to an outdoor stair to the third-floor roof top area, without passing any private bedrooms. Additionally, high slope of pitched roof is prepared for the future attic rooms which is still accessible from center hall of circulation.
